We are seeking an Account Executive to join our high-performance employee benefits team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a senior team member, you will lead client relationships and contribute to the strategy, renewal planning, and performance oversight of employee benefits programs. You’ll collaborate with other Account Executives, Consultants, and support staff to ensure an exceptional client experience.

Lead client onboarding and renewal cycles, proactively managing timelines, requirements, and stakeholder expectations.

Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, maintaining strong relationships with HR teams, executives, and vendor partners.

Strategize and execute benefits program enhancements, including benchmarking, plan design analysis, and cost-containment recommendations.

Oversee internal workflows and ensure accurate data entry and documentation within the agency’s information systems, including Employee Navigator and HubSpot.

Provide guidance to team members and act as a liaison with insurance carriers and vendors to ensure effective execution of client objectives.
POSITION FUNCTIONS

Lead and manage onboarding and renewal processes for assigned clients, ensuring strategic alignment and compliance with timelines.

Serve as a consultative advisor, identifying opportunities to improve plan performance, reduce costs, and increase employee engagement.

Analyze client data and performance metrics to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.

Address and resolve complex client issues with strategic solutions, collaborating with internal and external experts as needed.

Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of carrier guidelines, underwriting requirements, and market trends.

Support clients in navigating regulatory and compliance-related topics (ACA, COBRA, etc.).

Maintain strong carrier relationships to facilitate the negotiation of pricing for quotes, understanding policy conditions and terms. Review all quotations for accuracy with recommendations as to the best options for price, coverage, and risk alternatives.

Collaborate with internal teams to create client-ready presentations, proposals, and benefit summaries.

Proactively identify opportunities to expand coverage or introduce new lines of service to clients.

Maintain thorough documentation of client interactions, exposures, and risk mitigation strategies.

Facilitate effective communication and coordination between clients, carriers, and vendors.

Support sales and marketing efforts through participation in presentations, cross-selling strategies, and referral outreach.

Attend client and carrier meetings, whether virtual or on-site, as required to support relationship development and project execution.

Ensure client satisfaction through ongoing communication, transparency, and delivery of promised services.

Maintain control of expirations and ensure proactive renewal engagement.

Document all material conversations and decisions in compliance with agency E&O standards.

Contribute to the continuous development of Wisterm’s onboarding and performance improvement frameworks by identifying process improvement opportunities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
To thrive in this role, you can demonstrate a blend of technical insurance knowledge, client service excellence, and strategic thinking.
Required:
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in employee benefits and insurance (broker, carrier, or consultancy) with proficient knowledge of group benefits in multiple product lines (e.g., medical, dental, life, AD&D, disability).

Advanced knowledge of different funding arrangements and products available to clients (e.g., fully insured, minimum premium, ASO), with extensive experience relating to self-insured funding arrangements and concepts.

Proficiency with Employee Navigator, including building and maintaining client portals, uploading and mapping plan documents and rates, supporting carrier integrations and file feeds, training clients and their HR teams on system use, troubleshooting platform issues, and working with vendor support.

Active Life, Health, and Accident Insurance License.

Experience leading strategic account management, renewals, and client communication with a demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues using critical thinking and root-cause analysis.

Utilization of Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred:

Working knowledge of insurance technology platforms such as Applied Epic, HubSpot, FormFire, Zywave, or similar.

Knowledge of various payroll systems, including ADP, Paychex, or similar.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Project management experience or formal training preferred.
